Sustainability
At Helia, we work hard to deliver on our purpose: to accelerate financial wellbeing through home ownership.
Our approach.
Our approach to sustainability is also key in delivering on our purpose. It ensures that we consider our impact on, and stay accountable to, the people and world around us.
Our sustainability strategy is focused on targeting and prioritising environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas where we can have the greatest impact. The material ESG areas for our organisation are outlined below and guide our efforts to create long-term ESG value for our business, lenders and the community.

Modern slavery
At Helia, we believe in respecting human rights and that we have an important part to play in addressing the critical risk of modern slavery, both in Australia and globally. Our approach to modern slavery across all of our business activities helps to uphold Helia’s core values and achieve our vision of creating long term, sustainable value for the communities in which we operate.
Reconciliation Action Plan
Helia’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitment lays the foundations for us to establish meaningful and long-term relationships that contribute to reconciliation in a structured, relevant, and respectful way.
We recognise reconciliation involves a recognition of Australia’s history coupled with contemporary collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to raising awareness and encouraging a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including their cultures, histories, achievements, and aspirations throughout Helia.
Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces respect and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and all others that call Australia home.
As we craft our own identity as an Australian company with strong connections to home, we continue to challenge what this means for our approach to meaningful social impact in the communities we serve. We have chosen to continue our journey towards reconciliation by learning and advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the local communities with an Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
